Save earth?

To preserve means to keep or save from injury or destruction; to guard or defend from evil, harm, danger, etc; to protect.. The human race is trying to preserve nature by which, we indirectly seem to acknowledge the fact that we have caused injury and are trying hard to protect nature.. Well, the fact is that, nature can protect by itself; it doesn’t need human race to protect … All that we need to do is just leave nature alone and not disturb it anymore…

Where are we going to plant trees by the way or when are we going to stop planting the right trees at the wrong place or the wrong trees at the right place?

Well, that is what we have been doing for quite some time raising slogans like “GO GREEN”, “GREEN REVOLUTION”, “SAVE EARTH” and so on..

Planting trees and creating avenues may save nature is what we think, but, the irony is that, there are chances of those planted trees being cut down after a few decades on the pretext of broadening a road or making room for another building to room an office or an industry…

God created wildlife to protect and provide us. But sadly, greed has taken over or grazed over our protective and providential fence and exposed us to natural calamities which are inevitable due to loss of natural resources and wildlife. Blaming over-population for the loss of nature maybe a reason, but, it is not the sole reason as the so called bureaucrats project it to be. We cannot still keep blaming the poor for the loss of trees. The elites are to be blamed, the industries are to be blamed and each one of us are to be blamed.

Notorious are we, in pointing fingers on others. The truth is that, directly or indirectly, each one of us have punctured the ozone layer and now harping over global warming. Did we not bring home plastic carry bags when we always can carry a cloth bag while shopping? Don’t we over use our refrigerators and air conditioners? Don’t we use repellents and fertilizers?

We fail to understand that we need to press forward in science and technology to keep in par with the developing nations but not at the cost of digging graves and making coffins for our natural resources and wildlife.. For every industry built, we don’t just create lucrative job opportunities for the younger generation but also strip them of their natural wealth, wildlife and ozone protection. For every industry established a forest is lost. For every forest lost, a whole set of wildlife is lost. When wild life is lost, the food chain is lost. When food is lost, survival of human race is lost.

We need Industries and growth but not at the cost of sacrificing forest and wildlife… Science and technology should grow but not over nature’s grave.. Business houses feel proud in painting their environment green.. It’s fine… They prune and aesthetically shape their gardens. They wouldn’t do it if only they realize that their gardens can neither bring butterflies, bees or birds… Leave nature the way it ought to be and not the way you want it to be…

Nature doesn’t hurry yet everything is accomplished” – Lao Tzu

Be it food, clothing, shelter, education or travel, we all are in a hurry to accomplish and to acquire,, We literally race against time.. In the process we are not just speeding up the destruction of the earth but, making a coffin for our future generation too…

There is an old Chinese saying which goes like this,” Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”

If we do not act now, remember the days are not far off, when we will neither have a fish to feed a man nor water to teach him to fish…

“A wise old owl sat on an oak; the more he saw the less he spoke; the less he spoke the more he heard; why aren’t we like that wise old bird?” -Edward Hersey Richards

“Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come”
- Chinese proverb

“A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song”

Lets keep a green tree in our heart, before we green this planet…
